Friends, I wear dresses a lot. It’s not because I’m trying to be “fancy.” It’s not even because I tend to lean toward more modest styles. Plain and simple, I wear dresses because throwing one piece over my head and then accessorizing based on the day’s activities is just EASY!
When you add two or three versatile dresses to your wardrobe, the possibilities are endless for creating many distinct looks for many different occasions!
I was thrilled that online modest clothing boutique, Cleo Madison, reached out to me to review one of their dresses! Full disclosure, Cleo Madison sent me the dress in this post at no cost to me, but I’m not being paid for this post and as always, all opinions are 100% my own. I was not familiar with Cleo Madison prior to this collaboration, but my-oh-my, I am so glad to know about them now! Here’s why:
- They have a robust inventory of cute and modest styles;
- They ship quickly–I received my order within days;
- They are affordably priced!
For this post, I reviewed the Ballard Striped Dress. It is 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex, and made in the USA. This dress has 3/4 length sleeves and is midi length. I chose it because it seemed to be a “Fall” color scheme and I was looking to add a cooler weather dress to my wardrobe. I anticipate using it for both church and casual throughout our long middle Tennessee Fall (and Spring and Summer) months, but may not get as much use out of it in the Winter because of the weight of the material and the fact that when I wear stockings, I generally wear matte black stockings, which may not go so well with this particular frock. I’ve styled the dress on my mannequin for this post, but when I wear it, I’ll throw a slip on as well.
Oh, and I almost forgot…it has pockets!!!
Without further ado, here is how I styled the Cleo Madison Ballard Striped Dress:

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:3, 4
