Over the past several years, we’ve gotten more and more selective about the products we bring into our home.
My husband, daughter and I have systematically reduced clutter and organized our belongings to surround ourselves with only the material possessions that add value and joy to our lives. It seems that by taking this approach, we’ve freed up our time and energy to focus on making memories rather than cleaning and taking care of our “stuff!” (This, of course, is a work in progress, but it’s our goal!)
I love walking into the kitchen to prep dinner and seeing clear counters and an empty sink, like a blank canvas. It’s refreshing to come through the door in the evening and see swept floors and a tidy coffee table. It’s energizing to me to open a drawer and see the clothing neatly folded and easily viewed.
To be honest, I find enjoyment in keeping our house in order and contributing to the general sense of stability my husband and I strive to provide for our daughter. Although a tidy and organized home is our preferred backdrop to an intentional lifestyle, it is not the activity we want to be doing 24/7! That’s why we’re so careful about choosing the items we bring into our house.
Enter Norwex. Never heard of it? Stayed tuned…
If you aren’t familiar with Norwex, it’s a line of household and personal cleaning products families can use to create “Safe Havens” in our homes by reducing chemicals and waste. Here’s a short video explaining the virtues of cleaning our homes with Norwex!
(Full disclosure: I love and believe in these products so much that I became a Norwex consultant in 2016. If you already have a Norwex consultant, please continue supporting her business!)
A dear friend of mine from college and I reconnected last year and she introduced me to the Norwex product line. I tried several of their products and knew instantly that they would jive with our lifestyle! My husband and daughter are on board as well.
Here are some of our favorite Norwex products, that we use daily!
Norwex’s Microfiber and BacLock technology is so efficient and smart. The most basic product duo is the EnviroCloth and Window Cloth. You can use the EnviroCloth either wet or dry and on hard or soft surfaces. The Window Cloth is usually used dry to polish. Here’s an example of me using this pair of products to clean a window that was muddy from the dog’s paws!
Just WATER and NORWEX, no cleaners!
The Norwex Body Cloth may be my very favorite product! It’s been months since I stopped using any facial cleanser, just Norwex and water! It removes my makeup completely and naturally and leaves my face feeling completely cleansed! Our teenage daughter has sensitive skin and she also uses the Body Cloth to wash her face.
You can clean and disinfect A LOT with only Norwex cloths and water. However, Norwex also sells a Cleaning Paste (non-toxic and fume-free) that can be used with Norwex cloths for extra tough jobs. I use the Cleaning Paste on my stove top and the base of our shower.
This detergent is free from phosphates, dyes, fragrances, and fillers AND is 100% biodegradable. One bag lasts a LONG time because you only use a very small amount each time you run a load. It’s designed for high efficiency and standard washing machines.
If you’re looking for ways to reduce chemicals and waste and to promote a clean lifestyle, you’ll love Norwex!
